The Adinkra fern

Story

Endurance and strength

Aya is a fern, and an Adinkra symbol. It grows where little else will, which is why it stands for endurance.

I

The Mark

Aya, the Adinkra fern stands for endurance and strength. It is the fern cut into the lit sign above the door, pressed into the napkins, and embroidered on the staff.

The brand book gives AYA three values to go with it: natural elegance, cultural depth, modern refinement.

II

TheKitchen

What the menu shows is a kitchen working in two traditions at once: tempura, wok and a sushi counter alongside kelewele, kpakposhitɔr and smoked herring.

Kelewele on the sides list, matcha tiramisu at the end of it, and a rib-eye finished with kpakposhitɔr. The two halves are not translated into each other; they are cooked at once.
